"Paper Mill #1"

The Blue Heron Paper Mill in Oregon City is a popular site for AfterLight photographers because it offers a wealth of "industrial grunge" scenes and good vantage points from which to shoot them. A popular element of this scene (barely visible at this size) is a colorful figure painted on the wall just left of center. This was shot with a telephoto lens from across the river, so even visitors to the site rarely notice the figure. Fuji S2 with Nikkor 180/2.8, mid 2003 |
