People

Photos of people have a wide appeal because we're all interested in the whole of human experience.  I think people are most interesting when they are engaged in doing what they love.  Certainly it is the easiest way to get people to reveal their true image, which is almost always disguised in a posed shot.

I don't consider myself skilled at portraiture.  I would like to be, but it is really more about interpersonal skills than about photography.  That is, you have to have the photographic skills mastered so that you can concentrate on the relationship with the subject, but it is this latter skill that really makes for great portraiture.
