Things

Although the majority of my images are probably outdoor scenes, I really like working in the studio.  I recognize that part of this comes from being a control freak:  I want to be able to position the subject to best advantage and control the lighting to perfection.  Well, I never actually achieve perfection, but at least in the studio I have a chance at it.

Photographing inanimate objects also removes the social interaction, which is sometimes more comfortable, and other times less rewarding than working with people.  But I think it goes without saying that it is harder to get an object to express the photographer's feelings than it is a with a human subject.

Some of these images are "commercial" in appearance, although few were shot for commercial purposes.
